Vicki Grafing Shares Faith Community News With You!

I'm so thankful we live in a community that values education. This is actually a Parent Education Book Club! I wish we had AR points that were mandatory for parents! HA HA If we did, THIS would be on the mandatory list. What is IT???

by Rosalind Wiseman

Join the club format discussion of the following topics:

*Girls' power plays--from fake apologies to text messages
*Different roles girls play as Queen Bee, Targets, and Bystanders, and how this defines how they are treated.
*Checking your baggage--recognizing how your experiences impact the way you parent.

And so much more. Even if you can't make the Book Club, please pick up the book and read it! You'll be so glad you did. I'm the Mom of 2 daughters [ages 22 and 15] and TRUST ME WHEN I SAY I needed all the help I could get in trying to understand the dynamics of the relationships all around my daughters; what to shield them from, what to block out of their lives, what to nurture and the support it took to make the hard decisions and do the right thing. Parenting isn't easy. Parenting girls ISN'T EASY. My 11 year old son has been a piece of cake after the far anyway. :)

Group will meet Mondays, Feb. 6, 13, 20, 27 from 7:00-8:00pm at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 138 3rd St. NW, Valley City. Books will be available for purchase ($10). Call the Parent Resource Center at 845-8528 to register no later than February 3rd. The Club will be facilitated by Amy Tahran. Remember, just because it meets in a church, doesn't mean it's "churchy". This is brought to you by the ND Parent Education Network in partnership with Barnes County Social Services and NDSU Extension Service. Trust me......4 hours out of your life to equip yourself to parent your girls more successfully is an investment you can't pass up!! JOIN THE CLUB TODAY! For your girls. :)
