VCHS softball advances in EDC tourney
The Valley City High School softball team avenged a loss from its season opener, beating Red River 5-1 in the first round of the Eastern Dakota Conference tournament.
Allison Baasch and Jessica Denholm had two hits each in the win, which sets up the Hi-Liners for a game with West Fargo today in the championship semifinals at 4:30 p.m.
A win over the Packers will guarantee the team a spot in the Class A state championship. A loss will put the Hi-Liners in a state qualifying game Saturday.
