VCSU Sweeps Weekly NSAA Football Awards

(Jake McNeal/Times-Record) VCSU senior running back Derek Elliott rushed 44 times for 286 yards and 2 touchdowns to tie VCSU’s school record for single-game rushing yards and set the single-season school record for most rushing yards (1,613), rushing touchdowns (17), total touchdowns (19) and all-purpose yards (2,002).

VCSU senior running back Derek Elliott earned the Offensive Player of the Week Award, senior defensive Matt Craft the Defensive Player of the Week and junior kicker Thomas Cortez Special Teams Player of the Week.
