Marty Bratrud, activities director for Valley City Public Schools, notified the school district of changes and cancellations in school activities due to a predicted winter storm.
*The junior high girls basketball game against Barnes County North is cancelled (no make up date has been set at this time).
*Boys and girls hockey practice is cancelled for tonight in Jamestown.
*Sports and activity practices on campus will still be held after school pending the forecast holding. Practices will be concluded by 4:50 p.m. to allow students to be walking out the door by 5 p.m. Any students who live outside of Valley City will be excused from practice to allow them ample time to get home.
Bratrud said, "We will be monitoring the weather very closely today and if the forecast changes we will make appropriate changes to the practice schedules and send our students home earlier if necessary."
*On Saturday, Dec. 6th the Jamestown junior varsity boys hockey game vs. Williston has been cancelled. The varsity game will begin as scheduled at 3:30 p.m.
*Wednesday's practices and activities will be determined as the weather system moves through.
Bratrud said, "As a reminder if we have a late start all morning practices are cancelled. If school is cancelled there will be no after school activities."
