Youth basketball teams from around North Dakota came to Valley City Saturday for the Valley City Parks and Recreation Winter Shootout Tournament.
Boys and girls teams participated in seven divisions: fourth-grade boys and girls; boys fifth grade; boys and girls sixth grade; girls seventh grade; and boys eighth grade.
Coming in first in the girls fourth-grade division were the Firebirds of Devils Lake with six teams participating.
The first place team for sixth-grade girls were the Tigers of Dickinson with eight teams participating.
Coming in first place in the seventh-grade girls division were the Cheetahs of West Fargo with six teams participating.
In the boys fourth-grade division the Bombers of Bismarck came in first with eight teams participating.
The Valley City boys team took second place in the fourth-grade division.
In the boys fifth-grade division Boom of West Fargo took first place with six teams participating. The Valley City team took third place in the division.
For the boys sixth-grade division, Skyhawks of Bismarck came in first place with six teams participating.
In the boys eighth-grade division, Max Training of Moorhead came in first place with four teams participating.
The Valley City seventh-grade girls took fourth place in their division after winning their first game of the day on a 37-25 score.
