Valley City High School senior Kierstin Lorenz (pictured) ended her senior season as the Hi-Liner’s only member of the All-Eastern Dakota Conference team. The tennis team ended its season Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the EDC regional tournament in Grand Forks and will have no representatives at the state meet. The Hi-Liners lost 5-0 to West Fargo and 3-2 to Fargo South in the team tournament. The Hi-Liners pulled plenty of upsets in the individual tournament, including consecutive upset wins by Sara Gilbertson and Sam Coit over Red River’s top singles player, Katie Sween. Gilbertson, who was unseeded, eventually made it to a state qualifying match but lost. Lorenz and Clarissa Olson also made it to a doubles qualifying match, but lost in three sets
