Valley City High School senior Keely Fogarty, center, found time during the Hi-Liners’ trip to Bismarck Monday to sign her national letter of intent. Fogarty, a pitcher and infielder, will continue her softball career with Bismarck State College. Pictured with her are Valley City coach Jason Lindgren and Bismarck State coach Kylee Wilson. Wilson told the Times-Record that she expects to use Fogarty primarily as a pitcher but will also utilize her skills at second base. “She is a focused player who is always thinking ahead and ready to make the next play,” Wilson said. “We are going to use the fall and winter to really develop her pitches and her strength.” Wilson said she expects Fogarty will transition well to the junior college game. “Keely’s desire to learn and improve is going to make her into a great player and I am counting on her to come in and help make an immediate impact with both her knowledge of the game and her abililty,” Wilson said.
