VCHS' Lentz among VCSU FB Commits

February 7, 2013

The Valley City State University football team announced its newest additions on national signing day Wednesday.
The team announced the addition of five transfers, who joined the team this semester and are currently enrolled at the school, along with three high school students, including Valley City High standout Tayler Lentz.
Lentz, a 6 foot 2 inch linebacker and multi-sport athlete, had 52.5 tackles, three interceptions and a defensive touchdown last season. He also contributed to the Hi-Liners' state semifinal run as a wide receiver, getting 17 catches for 217 yards and four touchdowns in the run-first offense. He was named to the AA All-State 1st Team.
He's joined by high school recruits PJ Peterson, of Larimore, and Casey Kraska, of Stephen, Minn.
VCSU's transfers include quarterback Cameron Avery, receiver Cedric Chappell, linebacker Zach McBeain and offensive linemen Eric Philson and Gustavo Ramirez.
VCSU coach Dennis McCulloch said the transfers have already contributed positively to the team.
"I am very pleased with the hard work these young men have displayed in the weight room and during team workouts," he said. "They have all proven to be a great addition to our football family and community."
