VC, Hubmac Pleased With Stabilization

June 5, 2013

Sheyenne River bank stabilization in Valley City includes cut logs and planted small evergreen trees.

Valley City officials and George Gaukler said Tuesday they are pleased with a Sheyenne River bank stabilization project on Main Street adjacent to the Marketplace and the Old Elks Apartments.
Said Valley City Mayor Bob Werkhoven, “It's working as planned, and working real well. I was watching it when the river was at 2,000 cubic feet per second, and when it (the water speed and depth) dropped down, it still looked good.”
