VC Eagles hold banquet

Valley City Eagles 2192 held its 43rd annual award banquet at the Aerie Club with Lorney Behm as the master of cememonies. The hometown builder was Dakota Plains Co-op with manager Ken Astrup who accepted the award and thanked the Eagles.

The Civic Service Award went to Fire Chief Gary Retterath and was presented by Mary Simonson, a former winner.

The Humanitarian Award was given to Lynell Gertin by Don Malec and Gloria VanDyke. Gertin saved Gloria while she choking at the bank.
PP honored Les Wicks and was received by Tim Hildebrandt.

The Good Neighbor Award went to the Sodbuster Club received by Tony Heinze.

Scholarships were presented to 12 seniors. Those not shown that Jenna Coghlan submitted for state award were Cassandra Fick, Carley Ward, Jessica Carlblom and Tiffany Hass.

Pictured are seven that were there: Ashley Limesand, Ali Swift, Jessica Puhr, Kristen Nelson, Cody Christ, Katherine Gerntholtz and Tim Hildebrandt. Scholarships are $250 each.

Hank Middlestead was named Mr. Eagle, and he was also awarded a special plaque from the Valley City Fire Department.
