VC Businesses Cut Ribbons Wednesday

Newly visible Valley City business Reign Realty chose Wednesday for its open house and ribbon cutting in the former Dakota Rose building, because Dakota Rose decided to have the ribbon cutting and open house for its new location the same day.
Donna Reign, owner of Reign Realty at 201 Central Ave. S., said she began the business in March of 2012, but this is the first time she has had a store-front to operate from.
Reign said the business sells homes and land, and both business and residential properties.
The business is owned by Reign and business partner Brandon Culver, who also owns the building.
A graduate of Valley City High School – Reign declines to say when she graduated – she returned to Valley City seven years ago “to be with my mom and dad. My boys love it here, and want to stay.”
Reign said she did the official ribbon cutting Wednesday – also Crazy Day in Valley City – “so it would be the same day as Dakota Rose. We were at Dakota Rose's ribbon cutting, and they came to ours,” Reign said.
The building went through major renovations both inside and out. Reign said “Brandon bought the building – he is an artist at renovating buildings.”
Reign said one of her sons, Scott Harris who lives in North Carolina, created the metal Reign business insignia that graces the wall of the business over the reception desk.
She also has a daughter, Lisa Knight, and two other sons who live in Valley City – Joshua and Caleb.
Asher Noël is Reign's general manager.
Reign's sister, Joyce Eckern, who was at the open house, described Wednesday as “a soft opening” for the business.
