The Vault Coffee Shop and Bakery Grand Opening Set for Tomorrow
The Vault coffee shop and bakery opens its doors Friday at 11:30 a.m. After the ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m there will be free samples of baked goods. On opening day The Vault will be serving sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, pretzels, mini cupcakes, pizza rolls, pumpkin truffles and rock candy.
The Vault is owned and operated by Kimberly “Kyly” Brekke and is the result of four years of restoration by her husband, David Brekke. The Vault is on the main floor of The Stavanger Building, which was originally built as The Bank of Valley City in 1919.
“We’re not done with the renovations yet,” said David, “but we are done enough to open our doors and let Valley City see what we have accomplished so far.”
The Vault interior doubles as an art-for-sale gallery for local artists. Presently featured are fourteen quilts by award winning local artist Linda Carico.
At 8 p.m. The Vault will be showing Casablanca for free on their 20-foot screen. Future movies will be shown Saturday nights and cost $2 to $4 admission depending on the movie. While recent releases will occasionally be shown, the emphasis will be on playing classic movies that most viewers have not had the chance to see on the big screen. The Vault is buying the rights to show these movies through Swank and Criterion movie distributors.
The Vault is located in the Stavanger Building which is South of RJ Fashions at 223 Central Avenue North in Valley City.
