Valley Realty Developing Hillside Addition

August 17, 2012

Valley Realty will be developing a residential addition called Hillside Addition in the northwest part of Valley City.

Vice President Jim Knutson said the addition will have about 17 lots.
“We’re looking to start the underground work for sewer and water within the next week or two,” Knutson said, adding that he hopes to have the properties available for sale yet this fall.

The houses will be going up while others will be torn down for the city’s voluntary flood buyout program. The city has acquired 30 properties close to the Sheyenne River that are prone to flooding and cannot be safely and permanently protected. They will be removed.

City officials and Knutson say they hope the addition will help address part of the housing shortage in Valley City.
