Utility Rates May Increase

During Monday's finance meeting, the Valley City City Commission discussed raising Public Works rates in April. Because some departments lost revenue in 2012 and the previous years, city officials decided to focus on raising rates for commercial garbage fees along with a slight raise in other utilities.
Commissioners did not vote or make a permanent decision and the matter will be discussed further at the April 1 finance meeting.
