Wednesday, Nov. 16
- Pack the HAC: Sponsored by Valley City Public Schools, the VCHS Student Council, and local businesses. The event aims to fill the HAC floor with non-perishable food items and toiletries for the Barnes County Food Pantry. "Pack" will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hi-liner Activity Center.
- Mercy Hospital Nurses will meet at noon at Another Time restaurant.

Thursday, November 17
- Gilbert Kuipers will speak for the Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series. His topic is Fritz Haber and nitrogen fixation. The lecture will be at 7 p.m. in VCSU's Rhoades Science Building.
Monday, November 21, 2011.
- Sheyenne Valley Garden Club meets at 7 p.m. at the Valley City Eagles Aerie, Past Presidents Room. Program:  Holiday centerpieces.

Friday, Nov. 18
-VCHS drama presents "All Shook Up" at 7:30 p.m., VCHS Theater. Adults $8, students $5, preschool free.

Saturday, November 19
-The 29th Annual Snowball Fling Arts and Crafts Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the HAC, adults $2, children free. Santa will make an appearance from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and there will be food, entertainment and prizes.
-The Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals will be hosting an adoptable pet meet and greet Saturday 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Prosby Body Shop in Valley City. Come out to see some of the animals up for adoption and thank the volunteers for helping animals in our community. Volunteers will be on site to answer any questions you have about SVFA and how you can help animals in our area. 
-A benefit free-will spaghetti supper, bake sale and silent auction to benefit Terry Johnson will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Valley City Eagles Aerie. Supplemental funds will be provided by Barnes County Thrivent.
-A free planetarium show, "Navigating with Lewis & Clark", will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. in Room 310 of the Rhoades Science Center. This program, suitable for grade four and above, lasts about 40 minutes. For more information contact Wes Anderson 845-0966 or Alice Beauchman 845-7452.
