VCHS golf takes 4th
The Valley City High School golf team took fourth place in a meet Monday at the Fargo Century Club.
The Hi-Liner finished with 328 points, ten strokes short of the top three.
Nick Jenson shot a 79 to finish in a tie for seventh place and Jared Lentz shot an 81 to tie for 10th.
Coach Buff Murray said he was pleased to see the team playing well as it nears the end of the regular season.

VCHS tennis loses to Jamestown
The Valley City High School tennis team lost 4-1 in a 3-2 lineup match with Jamestown.
The match was similar to the upcoming regional tournament, with three singles matches and two doubles played. Unlike the regular season, a player can only participate in one event.
Coach Matt Nielson did not disclose his lineup for the match, citing strategy for the upcoming regional tournament.
VCHS softball loses
The Valley City High School softball team lost 7-3 to Bismarck Century in its final road game of the regular season.
Coach Jason Lindgren said his team struggled offensively and had only one hit in the game.
Keely Fogarty pitched a complete game allowing seven hits and keeping Century's top hitters under control.
The game came on the heels of a weekend in which the team played five games in two days, going 3-2.
