State softball starts today
The Class A and B state high school softball tournaments start today at Elmwood Field in West Fargo.
Enderlin/Maple Valley enters the first Class B tournament as the top seed in the South Region and opens the tournament against Pembina County North and is scheduled to start 35 minutes after the conclusion of a 4:30 p.m. game.

VCTA summer activities

The registration deadline is coming up for several Valley City Tennis Association programs.
1) Summer Tennis League: Monday nights at 7pm from June 4 - July 30 playing the World Team Tennis format; $25 entry fee. Open to junior/senior high players and adults.
2) Adult Beginner Lessons: Monday nights from 6-7pm in June (4,11,18,25); $20 entry fee; 4 players minimum.
Registration is due Friday to the VCPR office. Call 840-1727 for more information.
VCSU offering youth basketball camps during summer
The Valley City State University mens and womens basketball team will be hosting camps this summer.
The women will be hosting a position camp June 10-12, which starts at $135 per person for athletes in grades 5-12. The registration deadline is June 1.
From June 18-21, the mens team will host a boys camp for athletes in grades 2-12. There is a $60 fee per person and the registration deadline is June 14.

VC Community pool opens
The Valley City Parks and Recreation Community pool opened for the season Tuesday.
Open swimming in held daily. Entry is $3 for ages 3-14 and $4 for ages 15 and up. Children two and under are admitted free and season passes are available.
