Valley City High School seniors Madison Taylor, Dustin Lindgren, Austin Berg and Austen Meyer appeared at the Hi-Liner Activity Center Wednesday afternoon, in honor of National Signing Day, to finalize their collegiate letters of intent.

Taylor, an outside hitter, will attend and play volleyball for Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, N.D. Lindgren, a fullback/linebacker, signed with Valley City State football, pitchers Berg and Meyer with Viking baseball.

“VCSU offered the most,” Lindgren said. “It’s close to home and my parents and family can watch.”

“[Berg and Meyer] both bring something to the table personality-wise,” VCSU head baseball coach Casey Olney said. “They grew up cheering for the jersey, and now they get to put it on.”

“It’s nice to stand next to people you know,” said Meyer of signing with VCSU.

“We’ve been playing together since we were five or six, and it’s nice to play with a friend,” Berg said.
