Valley City Public Schools administrators and teachers recognized students and staff during the Valley City Public School board's regular meeting Monday.

As a team, the students took first place in the region, and seventh-grader Evan Haglund just returned from the national competition in Washington, D.C. where he competed.
Haglund said his trip to D.C. "was a really fun experience; I met a lot of new people. It was just fun to go see all the monuments — it was just a great experience."
