Students, Staff Honored at School Board Meeting

Valley City Public Schools administrators and teachers recognized students and staff during the Valley City Public School board's regular meeting Monday.
Among other recognitions, junior and senior high math teacher Trevar Hansen recognized four students who competed in the local, regional and state Mathcounts competition, a math competition for sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-graders. As a team, the students took first place in the region, and seventh-grader Evan Haglund just returned from the national competition in Washington, D.C. where he competed.
Haglund said his trip to D.C. "was a really fun experience; I met a lot of new people. It was just fun to go see all the monuments — it was just a great experience."
