Stephanie Mayfield has left her position as Executive Vice President at the Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce as of Friday.
To honor her service, the Chamber held a farewell open house Friday afternoon.
Mayfield is excited for her next adventure to stay at home with her 4-year-old daughter. She said her daughter’s daycare closed and instead of trying to find a new one, she decided to stay home with her.
Mayfield has been with the Chamber for more than two years; she started in March of 2010.
“It’s been quite a ride and a pleasure and honor to work with the community,” Mayfield said, adding that she enjoyed being a part of such fun things for Valley City.
Mayfield said the Chamber is currently seeking an EVP and will probably have someone hired before the 4th of July. Mayfield said she knows the next EVP will have a wonderful time.
“They’re all really great,” Mayfield said of local residents and businesses.
In the Chamber’s June newsletter, Mayfield said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed the past two-plus years at the chamber and getting to know each business in our community.
It has been a pleasure to serve all of you. I have learned so much from all of our businesses and even more about what a supportive community we live in here in Valley City.”
Keith Heuser, president of the Chamber, said “Steph has put her heart and soul into her job at the Chamber and has made an incredible difference in the relationship among the Chamber and local businesses.
It was a pleasure working with Stephanie,” he said, adding it made the board’s job much easier having her as EVP.
