Stamp Out Hunger Set for May 11

Valley City residents are encouraged to leave out some non-perishable food items by their mailboxes May 11 to help stock the Barnes County Food Pantry in the nationwide Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

On Saturday, May 11, Valley City residents can help fill the Barnes County Food Pantry with the 21st annual Stamp Out Hunger across America campaign.
The nationwide food drive is an effort by the National Association of Letter Carriers and the United States Postal Service that provides assistance to the millions of Americans who are struggling to put food on the table everyday, according to a press release.
Pennie Reinke, USPS letter carrier who is heading the Valley City campaign, said, "All the proceeds we get go to the Barnes County Food Bank."
