Shanley Steals Game 1, Holds in Game 2

(Jake McNeal/Times-Record) Hi-Liner freshman Nate Rodriguez pitched a complete game in Saturday’s opener and pulled off go-ahead double in the sixth inning.

Hi-Liner baseball held a 2-1 lead through six innings of Saturday’s first game against visiting Fargo Shanley, but a two-out Deacon triple in the top of the seventh scored two runs for the 3-2 win. Valley City staged a comeback after trailing 5-0 early in game two but fell short, 6-3.
