Salvation Army Seeks Bell Ringers

The Barnes County Salvation Army unit is seeking volunteers to ring bells during this year's red kettle drive. The campaign, which raises money to help community members in need, begins Friday, Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving, and lasts until Christmas Eve.

The familiar red kettles will be set up at Leevers Foods, Marketplace Foods and Shopko in Valley City from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To reach this year's goal of $40,000, volunteer bell ringers are needed to fill 523 one-hour spots. Bell ringing chairmen Joe Lunde and Dave Carlsrud encourage families, businesses, organizations and groups to get involved.
