Rodney Vaders

Rodney Eugene Vaders passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident in Litchville, ND.
He was born, 1:23 p.m., July 29, 1942, at the family farmhouse in Litchville. He was born the fourth of five children, to Herman and Ulla Vaders.
His family moved to Lynnwood, Washington in 1956 where Rod finished his high school education. He married, joined the U.S. Army National Guard and began his career at John Fluke Manufacturing. He worked his way from the stock room into design and engineering before finishing his 32 year career with the company in International Sales for Holland and the Pacific Rim. He formally retired in 1995.
He and his wife Barbara chose to make their home on Camano Island, Wa. They raised their two daughters in the home he built from the ground up with his own hands. He was ever prideful of his craftsmanship and enjoyed sharing his home with friends and guests.
In 1997, Rod decided to pursue the pleasure of retirement full-time in Litchville, where he could pass his days sharing laughter with his friends, creating great things where there was nothing, helping his neighbors, and embracing a simple lifestyle that suited him well, and filled him with contentment.
He loved his daughters, and his heart was always delighted by his grandchildren. Their laughter and giggles always made him smile.
In September 2013, Rod met with a dream fulfilled. He purchased his life long dream car. A 1988 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, red on red, 12,000 miles and pristine condition. His family had never heard his voice carry such excitement.
On Tuesday, October 8, he went for a little drive around the way just to "warm it up." With the sun on his face, the wind in his hair and the power of a true muscle car at his command, he was called home.
Rod is survived by the mother of his daughters, Barbara Leah Nelson of Sedro Woolley, WA. Eldest daughter, Deborah Dorothea Vaders, Arlington, WA.
