Larry Robinson, North Dakota District 24 state senator, VCSU almunus and executive director of university advancement, speaks to the audience Friday at an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for Valley City State University’s Rhoades Science Center.
To dedicate the renovation and addition of Valley City State University's Rhoades Science Center, several speakers were present at a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house Friday afternoon.
Many people across the state were thanked for their efforts in the project. Those who gave remarks included Drew Wrigley, North Dakota lieutenant governor; Steven W. Shirley, VCSU president; Joe Stickler, VCSU professor emeritus of science; Erika Schumacher, VCSU alumna and Dickinson veterinarian; and Larry Robinson, VCSU alumnus and executive director of university advancement, and North Dakota District 24 state senator.
Shirley said in his opening comments, "The grand opening of this beautiful, newly renovated and expanded Rhoades Science Center is indeed a historic occasion for Valley City State University. VCSU has served this region for nearly 125 years, and, as this is the first new major capital construction of an academic building in four decades, I can't think of a better facility, or a more appropriate facility for us to be dedicating today."
