Reps to Boys, Girls State

The American Legion and Auxiliary are pleased to announce their selections to represent their school and community at Girls State and Boys State. For the 2012 school year.

Ethan Nolte will attend Boys State at the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton beginning June 10 through June 15. Ethan is the son of Mark Nolte and Angela Hanson of Valley City.

Tonya Lynn Van Dyke, daughter of Curt and Katy Van Dyke along - with Jolynn Gregoryk, daughter of Gary and Kerry Gregoryk will attend Girls State at the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks. All fees are paid by the Valley City American Legion Post and auxiliary.

Girls and Boys State is a mythical state where girls and boys learn all about government by functioning as a city, state, and county.

The boys and girls listed above are 11th grade students at the Valley City High School and were selected on their merits as worthy candidates in all respects of scholarship, interest and character.
