(Jake McNeal/Times-Record) Cole McGough pitched six complete innings for seven unearned runs, 10 hits, two walks and six strikeouts as Valley City trailed 1-0 after a District inning on Monday but kicked into gear for a six-inning 17-7 win. Lisbon came out swinging and led 1-0 after a District inning Monday at Charlie Brown Field, but Valley City responded to finish a 17-7 win in the sixth on 18 total hits.

Valley City completed the four-game season sweep with Monday’s triumphs, having vanquished Lisbon 12-9 and 6-3 on the road on June 12. Babe Ruth’s juniors took fifth place from Lisbon in uncanny fashion at June 20-21’s Enderlin Tournament with seven runs in the fourth for an 8-7 escape.
