Rae Marie Kvilvang
Rae Marie Kvilvang was born in Valley City, ND to LeGrande and Ella Geisler on November 14, 1942 and returned to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the morning of September 11, 2013.
Rae grew up in Valley City and was a member of the Valley City High School class of 1960. She was then joined in marriage to Curtis Kvilvang on November 18, 1962. They made their home in Valley City.
After working at the Register of Deeds Office for a time, she devoted the rest of her life to raising her 5 children, Melissa, Michael, Nathan, Christiaan, and Eliscia.
She can be best remembered for her devotion to church and family. Rae’s passion was for everyone to know and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. She was active in leading youth groups, worship services, and women’s ministries. Rae enjoyed playing piano, writing music and poetry, and being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Rae will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Curt of Valley City; sons, Michael & Jill and their children, Noah and Nicholas, Valley City; Nathan & Heather and their children, Adam, Griffin and Ellie, Valley City; and Chris & Katrina, and their children, Christian, Macey, Keaton and Adelyn, Cando, ND; daughter, Eliscia & Jason Bergstrand and their children, Jonah and Jacob, Fergus Falls, MN; and a sister, Janice Christie of Georgia.
She joins her parents; daughter, Melissa; daughter-in-law, Laurie; grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda; and her mother and father-in-law in the arms of Jesus.
The funeral service for Rae Marie Kvilvang, 70, Valley City, ND, will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at New Life Assembly of God in Valley City. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City. She died at Sanford Health in Fargo on September 11, 2013.
Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A prayer service will be held beginning at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
