Beginning Thursday, Valley City will likely be filled with the sights and sounds of fireworks, with the pyrotechnics being legal for sale from then through July 5.
Valley City Fire Department Chief Gary Retterath said Monday fireworks can be sold from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. those days, and those buying them must be at least 12 and be able to prove the age. Retterath said most sellers require a note testifying to the age signed by a parent.
