Spring fieldwork is underway. This farmer in Litchville, along with farmers all over the area is preparing fields for planting. If the weather holds, spring wheat planting could be complete in about a week.
Spring fieldwork and planting is finally underway on area farmland.
After being delayed for weeks by cold weather and late spring snow, farmers throughout the area are planting spring wheat and corn as well as picking rocks and applying fertilizer to dry ground.
"We're certainly very late," said Randy Grueneich, North Dakota State University Extension Agent for Barnes County. "If we get wheat in this week we'll be doing very good."
