Pizza Corner Pizzas Back on Shelves

October 24, 2013

Pizza Corner pizzas are back on the shelves after a six-hour hold on sales yesterday. Some local Pizza Corner vendors, including MarketPlace Foods and Stop N Go, confirmed Wednesday that they received a letter or phone call from Pizza Corner, advising them to pull that brand's pizzas from their shelves. Others, including Leevers Foods and some local bars, had not received notification. Later Wednesday afternoon, they were given the go ahead to continue to sell and serve Pizza Corner pizzas. None of the vendors were told why.

Pizza Corner owner Dave Zubrod said he was not allowed to speak on the matter but advised the Times-Record to call the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service office in Washington, D.C. They have not yet returned the phone call. The Times-Record will provide information as it becomes available.
