Peter Koble

Peter Koble, age 79 of Valley City and formerly of Jamestown, ND died Feb. 7, 2014 at the Veterans Administration Health Center in Fargo, ND. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Thursday Feb. 13, 2014 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City with Msgr Dennis Skonseng and Fr. Michael Schommer con-celebrants. Burial will be in the ND Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND at 11 AM Friday. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM at St. Catherine’s Church and one hour prior to services on Thursday.
Peter George Koble was born to Conrad and Katherine (Leier) Koble on November 15th, 1934 in Smokey Lake, ND. Peter grew up on the farm with his parents, brothers and sisters. Pete loved the farm life and worked as a farmer until joining the army in 1958. Peter was in the army and the guards for 22 years. Peter married the love of his life Marlys Marie (Pearson) on May 2nd 1959. Marlys has been the LAdy of perpeutal help for 55 Years. They have 4 boys, Roger, Mark, Peter JR, and Kelly (Jennifer Nordbeck). They also have 7 grandchildren, and 2 Great grandchildren.
Peter worked for the railroad for a number of years until moving his family to Granville, ND. Peter and Marlys owned and operated a bar for 11 years. Peter and Marlys then moved their family to Jamestown, ND Where they spent a good portion of there life running a group home and working at the State Hospital. In 2000 they moved to Valley City, ND until Peter required a little more care and moved to the nursing home at the end of 2011. In late 2013 Peter was moved to the VA hospital in Fargo, Nd where he passed away on February 7th, 2014.
Peter is survived by his wife Marlys, there 4 sons, there grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Brother Robert (Shirley) Koble, and sisters Alice Axtman, and Faye (Joe) Roerich.
Peter is preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, Conrad and Gerald. Sisters Kaye Fettig and Christine Wold and grand daughter Stephanie Koble.
