Ost Co-Golfer of the Week

Shane Ost of Valley City State and Kameron Hunter of Jamestown were named the first Co-North Star Athletic Association Men’s Golfers of the Week, the NSAA announced Monday.

Ost continued his hot start to the fall golf season with an even-par 72 and a first-place finish in the Bismarck State Mystics Invitational on Sept. 3. Ost’s big day paced the Viking men’s golf team to a score of 307 and a first-place finish at the six-team meet.

Hunter led the Jimmies to a second-place finish in the competitive Siouxland Invitational (course par score of 71), which featured 17 teams. He recorded identical scores of 73 on a 2-day invitational to place fourth overall out of 102 total golfers in the meet. Jamestown finished second in the meet.

Jamestown, Presentation (S.D.) and Valley City State will compete in the two-day Jamestown Invitational in Jamestown, N.D that kicks off on Saturday at 2 p.m. and continues on Sunday, starting at 9:30 a.m.
