April 19, 2013

The walking bridge to Valley City State University flooded during the 2011 spring flood.

Valley City has a 50 percent chance of moderate spring flooding, said Greg Gust of the National Weather Service Grand Forks office Thursday.
As a result of the latest prediction, the Valley City Commission planned to meet in special session 7:30 a.m. today “to declare a flood emergency and to open the door for federal funding,” said Mayor Bob Werkhoven.
