New Massage Shop Open in VC

October 2, 2012

Nikki Johnson is on her second month in her new business in downtown Valley City. Johnson, Valley City, opened Absolute Tranquility Therapeutic Massage in July, offering a variety of relaxation services.

Johnson is also an occupational therapist but decided she wanted to focus on a more relaxing side to therapy.

“The world is so stressful, I just want to focus on helping people relax and incorporate it into their healthy living,” she said.

Among the many massage techniques she offers, Johnson specializes in regular Swedish massage, sports massage, pregnancy massage and stone massage. She also does infant massage sessions and will be adding body wraps and salt glows in the future.

Salt glows are basically a full-body exfoliation, using scented and infused salt that revitalizes and replenishes the skin, Johnson said.
Body wraps are detox treatments that help rid the body of toxins through metabolic stimulation. The relaxing process also aids in quick, temporary weight loss.

Before opening Absolute Tranquility, Johnson worked as an occupational therapist in different settings in nursing homes and in infant development.

She opened her store in Valley City so she didn’t have to drive far to be close to family.

Her office is located at 202 Central Avenue South. Her phone number is (701) 490-0663.

Her office hours are: Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 12-8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and an occasional Sunday, 1-5 p.m.
