NDSU Feedlot School scheduled

December 13, 2011

The North Dakota State University Feedlot School has been scheduled for Jan. 24 and 25 at the university's Carrington Research Extension Center.

The course will focus on feedlot production, nutrition, waste management and marketing.

"There are new markets for fat cattle much closer to our North Dakota feedlots, which will lower transportation costs," said Vern Anderson, animal scientist at the CREC in a press release. "This, coupled with increased demand for USDA Choice beef by the world market, provides opportunity for feeding our exceptionally high-quality cattle right here in North Dakota."
