ND law enforcement to increase seatbelt enforcement Nov. 11 - 19

North Dakota law enforcement agencies throughout the state will conduct increased seatbelt enforcement during a "Click It or Ticket" campaign running Friday, Nov. 11, through Saturday, Nov. 19.

"North Dakota has some startling statistics related to unbelted motor vehicle fatalities," said NDDOT Safety Division Director Mark Nelson in a news release. "Historically, about three out of four people killed in motor vehicle crashes are not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash."

As of Oct. 21, 53 of 85 fatalities on North Dakota roads this year were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
