Mother, Children Escape Serious Injury in Rollover on Interstate

February 6, 2013

A 22-year-old mother and her two children received minor injuries during a mid-morning rollover Tuesday on Interstate 94, Wes Maley, trooper with the North Dakota Highway Patrol, said.

Chelsey Dehne, 22, of Tower City, and her 9-month-old and 2-year-old children were transported to Mercy Hospital in Valley City for minor injuries after Dehne lost control of her 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer near milemarker 285, by Hobart Lake, on I94.

At about 10:22 a.m. the accident was reported, and the Barnes County Sheriff’s Department, North Dakota Highway Patrol, Barnes County Ambulance and Barnes County Rural Fire Department responded.

The children were both in buckled in car seats, and Dehne was wearing a seatbelt.

Maley said there was compacted ice on the road at the time of the accident.

“She lost control, over-corrected and entered the median and rolled,” Maley said.
