Post 60 begins week of league play
The Valley City Post 60 baseball team kicks off a week full of Section 1 play with a home game today against Enderlin at 5:30 p.m. at Charlie Brown Memorial Field.

Post 60 has home games this week with Wahpeton Wednesday, Great Bend Thursday, and Galchutt Friday. All have a 5:30 p.m. start.

Local golfer hits hole-in-one
Valley City golfer Wendy McDaniel hit a hole-in-one Saturday in Medora. McDaniel hit her ace on the 92 yard 15th hole of the Bully Pulpit Golf Course. She used a 7 iron on the shot. The shot was witnessed by husband Jim McDaniel and Carmen Dolen, of Casper, Wyo.
Ladies Golf update
Mary Tangen shot a 48 for low score on June 13 Ladies Day at the Town and Country Club. Nicole Swenson had 30 for low net.
The game of the day was putts and winners were Lori Justessen with low of 15 and it was a tie for high with Vickie Ross, Judy Holmgren, and Teresa Tangen. Connie Maresh had a chip-in. There were 26 golfers recording scores for the day.
Reminder to all women golfers to sign up for the two person scramble on June 27. This is a fund raiser for the Susan G. Koman foundation todo research on breast cancer. Otie Fagerstrom will be the honored survivor of breast cancer for this year’s tourney.
