Mitten Tree in VC

December 13, 2013

Rosie Larson started a mitten tree in Valley City 36 years ago with her children. She says the campaign has grown since then, and now she has her grandchildren helping her. Pictured by the tree left to right are Troy Pruett, Tammy Jacobson, Daryl Larson and Rosie Larson.

Valley City Cares, a local, independent charity organization is sponsoring a mitten tree in Valley City for the 36th year. Run by Rosie Larson and her family, the tree helps provide those in need with mittens, boots, scarves, toys and other donated items during the holiday season.
The tree is located at First Community Credit Union, where people can drop off donations. Other drop-off sites are at Miller Motors, The Mane Tamer, MarketPlace Foods, and Barnes County Extension Office. Donations can also be dropped off at Larson's house by calling (701) 845-0688.
