Viking basketball teams go unranked in final NAIA polls
The Valley City State University mens and womens basketball teams both received votes in the final NAIA Division II basketball poll of the season, but neither could crack the top 25.
The women, who narrowly lost to No. 2 College of the Ozarks in the first round of the NAIA Division II Womens Basketball National Championship tournament, received twelve points in the final poll, placing them six spots out of the top 25.
The men, who went 20-10 and ended the season with a loss in the Association of Independent Institutions conference tournament, got 34 points, which left them four spots out of the top 25. During the season the team was ranked as high as 17th in the poll.
Additionally, the teams had three athletes named NAIA scholar athletes.
Mandi Bindas and Courtney Titus were named from the womens team and Dillan Ostrom was named from the mens team.
