Maresh, Bennett Shine at USA Games

Adam Maresh won three power lifting gold medals and Jennifer Bennett a track and field silver medal in representation of Valley City and North Dakota in June 14-21’s Special Olympics USA Games in Princeton, N.J., from which Team North Dakota came away with nine gold medals, four silver and seven bronze.

North Dakota, featuring 34 athletes and 10 coaches, competed in Athletics (Track and Field), Aquatics, Bowling, Powerlifting, Unified
Bocce, Unified Soccer and Unified Volleyball.

North Dakota Unified Soccer claimed a bronze medal in the tournament’s top division, and Unified Volleyball took fourth.

Approximately 3,500 athletes representing all 50 states competed at the USA Games.
