Leevers Foods is currently running a âstuff a truckâ promotion, which started Nov. 5 and lasts through Nov. 25.
The promotion is an effort to collect nonperishable food for the Barnes County Food Pantry.
Rick Idland, general manager, said, âThis is such a caring community, and thereâs so much need out there.â
âI know everyone is doing their parts,â he said, citing the Valley City Parks and Recreationâs food drive at Ruckus at the Rec along with local car dealersâ âstuff the trunkâ promotions.
âA big hand goes out to Ingstad Family Media, the Times-Record, the local schools and MarketPlace Foods for securing foods for the less fortunate,â Idland said. âWe at Leevers are just a small part of that helping hand.â
Everyone who brings in nonperishable items will get a registration form to win Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers tickets for the Dec. 30 noon game. People can register anytime they bring an item, âso bring lots and enter often,â Idland encouraged.
Donations can be dropped off at Leeverâs Foods until Nov. 25. Theyâll bring the collections to the Barnes County Food Pantry Nov. 26.
Leevers Foods recently switched to Nash Finch Company as its distributer, and all seven Leeverâs stores throughout the state are joining in a wide effort to collect as much nonperishable items for the local food banks in their communities.
