Lady Loboes Top Seed in District 5 Hoops Tournament

LaMoure/Litchville-Marion girls basketball defeated Strasburg-Zeeland 69-21 on the road on Saturday night and begins the District 5 Tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday in Ellendale, N.D. against the winner of Friday's No. 4 Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier and No. 5 Barnes County North matchup.

Lady Loboes senior forward Tasha Piehl, 8th-grade guard/forward Anna Holen and junior guard/forward Kennedy Witt spurred LaMoure/Litchville-Marion with 12 points each. Witt sank four three-pointers in the evening, Piehl three more and Holen another.

Strasburg/Zeeland junior forward Kara Weigel led her team with eight points on 6-of-8 free throws.

LLM led 25-4 after a quarter, 37-11 at halftime and 51-17 after three.

The Lady Loboes have won three games in a row and nine of their last 10 dating back to Jan. 24. They complete the regular season 4-0 in District 5 action and 13-6 overall.
