Jared Lentz Shoots an 84 on Day 1 of Class A State Golf Tournament

Hi-Liner junior Jared Lentz, representing Valley City at the Class A State Golf Tournament at Jamestown Country Club, shot a 12-over 84 on Tuesday to enter a seven-way tie for 39th entering Wednesday’s Day 2.

Lentz stands tied with Bismarck Century senior Austin Schauer, Fargo Davies senior Bryan Pallen and sophomore Talon Johnson, Bismarck St. Mary’s Central 7th-grader Cole Herbel, Grand Forks Red River freshman Keaton Wolf and Fargo North sophomore Tucker Lehr.

West Fargo senior Riley Johnson and Davies senior Tanner Kretchman start Day 2 tied atop the leaderboard at an even 72, but Fargo Shanley, who took third in the East Region, leads all teams with a 300.

Lentz qualified for State with a 78 on May 15 at King’s Walk Golf Course in Grand Forks, N.D.
