June 9, 2014

Jamestown took the first of Friday’s non-conference games from Valley City Babe Ruth at Charlie Brown Field before the second contest, tied 3-3 in the third inning, was cut short due to rain.

Rylee Bjork picked up two hits and a run while pitching three innings on five hits, seven runs allowed, four walks and five strikeouts.

Sam Jenson, Riley Miller drove in Valley City’s runs. Braedan Kohn scored.

Tanner Thomsen worked an inning for four hits, seven runs and two walks.

Kohn, Bjork, Jenson, Miller and Nelson were each of Valley City’s hits in the abbreviated second game that will not be completed.

Kohn, Bjork and Nelson were Valley City’s three runs.

Jaden Oestern pitched two hitless innings to allow three runs, eight walks and strike out two.

Valley City (1-0 District, 3-2 overall) hosts Oakes on Monday at 5 p.m. for a seven-inning District game and a five-inning non-conference nightcap.
