House Fire Hero

Before firefighters arrived to battle a blaze at the Schonert home in Valley City, a young neighbor helped three family members escape the blaze from a second-story window. The house and all of the family's belongings were lost in the fire, but the Schonerts escaped the blaze.

When the Schonert home burned last week, an 18-year-old neighbor was on-hand to help three of the family members who were forced to jump from a second-story window to escape the flames. Read more in Monday's Times-Record.
