Hi-Liner softball celebrated four seniors in Tuesday’s regular season finale, an 11-0 Parents Night win over Fargo South in advance of Thursday’s 5 p.m. Eastern Dakota Conference Tournament matchup against the very same Bruins.

“It’ll be tougher to replace four seniors [Dierra Diegel, Danica Diegel, Jessica Denholm and Paula Andel],” said Valley City head coach Jason Lindgren of his graduating leaders. “But we have sophomores [Hannah Meyer, Heather Knutson, Kaylee Schlittenhardt, Brenna Dieterle and Tarryn Justesen] moving up.”

Valley City (11-5 EDC, 19-9 overall) carries the No. 2 seed into May 22-24’s tournament at Anderson Softball Complex in Fargo, N.D. South (4-12 EDC, 3-16 overall), against whom the Hi-Liners took both EDC points Tuesday, is the No. 7.
