Hi-Liner Gymnastics Awards Announced

Hi-Liner gymnastics has announced season awards:

Freshman Taylor Johnson is the MVP, junior Abby Brown the Most Dedicated, sophomore Brienne Roehrich has the Best Attitude, and Hannah Sorensen is the Hardest Worker.

Valley City won the Eastern Dakota Conference team championship and took eighth with 136.050 points (35.483 Vault, 31.450 Bars, 33.567 Beam and 35.550 Floor), the best performance of any East Region team, at Feb. 28-March 1’s State Meet in Bismarck, N.D.

Junior Bethany Crump tied for 10th at 35.700 points in the Individual All-Around, 11th in Vault with an 8.983, seventh in Bars at 9.017, 26th in Beam at 8.267, and tied for fifth in Floor with a 9.433.

Johnson came 12th in the All-Around at 35.550, 19th in Vault at 8.850, 22nd in Bars at 8.267, 12th in Beam at 9.117 and 11th in Floor at 9.317.

Eighth-grader Eryn Crump took 19th in the All-Around with 33.950 points, 21st at 8.283 in Bars, 27th at 8.200 in Beam and 19th in Floor at 9.000.

Seventh-grader Michaela Thibert tied for 21st All-Around with 33.833 points, 24th at 8.750 in Vault, 23rd in Beam at 8.467 and 24th in Floor with an 8.817.

Roehrich was 23rd overall at 33.817, 20th in Beam at 8.650 and 25th in Floor with 8.767.
